FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to traumatology, orthopedics, vertebrology, neurosurgery and may be applicable for implantation of body-replacing vertebral implant. Stem of the implant is pre-filled with ground natural or artificial filler. After implant placement, the spine is distracted by unscrewing the stem to maximize the length of the telescopic implant. Add the necessary amount of filler to the inner cavity of the implant until it is completely filled. Seal the filler by reducing the total length of the telescopic implant. Jumpers on the half-shells are bent towards the longitudinal central axis of the implant by applying to them from the outside of the radial forces until the bridges are lowered into the longitudinal grooves of the rod, with thread locking and fixing the half-shells of the implant relative to the stem.

EFFECT: method allows to maintain the rigidity of the half-body, to ensure the possibility of using the jumper as a reliable retainer.
