FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, namely to invasive medical procedures such as angioplasty, and more particularly to a catheter with markings to facilitate alignment in a treatment area. Kit for treating a treatment area in the vasculature comprises a first pre-dilatation catheter and a second dilatation catheter. First pre-dilatation catheter has a first shaft including a first distal portion adapted for positioning at the treatment area and a first proximal portion including a first marking at a first location. First marking determines the distance to the treatment area relative to the reference point located outside the vasculature. Second dilatation catheter includes a second shaft including a second distal portion adapted for positioning at the treatment area and a second proximal portion including a second marking at a second location substantially matching a first location of the first marking. Second dilatation catheter comprises a balloon carrying the drug, the second marking determines the same distance to the treatment area relative to the reference point in order to ensure application of the drug contained in the balloon to the treatment area. Device for treating a treatment area within vessels comprises a catheter including a shaft having a distal portion containing a balloon carrying the drug, and a proximal portion including at least one marking for monitoring it at a reference point outside the body in order to determine the location of the treatment area relative to said reference point. Method for treating a treatment area in the body comprises introduction of the distal portion of the first catheter into the treatment area; determining the position of the first marking on the proximal portion of the first catheter relative to the reference point; introduction of the second catheter until the second marking on the second catheter is aligned with the reference point; and applying a treatment agent to the treatment area by means of the second catheter. Method for treating a treatment area in the vasculature comprises providing the first catheter having a first shaft including a first distal portion adapted for positioning at the treatment area and a first proximal portion including a first marking at a first location; and providing the second catheter having a second shaft including a second distal portion adapted for positioning at said first location, and a second proximal portion including a second marking at a second location substantially matching a first location of the first marking.
EFFECT: use of inventions provides to provide more accurate positioning of the balloon catheter in the vasculature in the treatment area, additionally characterized by a high degree of reproducibility.
