SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the communication device operation and to the outdoor lighting control communication networks. Communication device (102) comprises transceiver (202) configured to communicate in the communication network. At that, the communication process in the communication network comprises the configuration stage, including (a1) stage of obtaining, by the communication device, via the first remote communication mode, of the selected role profile, selected from the role profiles set, wherein the said selected role profile defines the communication device role in the communication network during the operation phase, and the operational phase (OPRTN PHS) includes the stages, at which (b1) blocking by the communication device its transceiver ability to communicate or enable its transceiver to communicate via the first remote communication mode, depending on the selected role profile; (b2) communicating with the communication device in the communication network using the second remote communication mode.

EFFECT: reduction in the number of technological operations for the network nodes commissioning.
