FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to use of calcium carbonate with a chemically treated surface as a lumping inhibitor, a method for preventing caking, a composition containing a lumping inhibitor, as well as to a process for production such composition. Use of calcium carbonate with a surface treated as a lumping inhibitor is proposed, where calcium carbonate with a chemically treated surface is the product of interaction of natural crushed or precipitated calcium carbonate with carbon dioxide and at least one acid in an aqueous medium, said at least one acid is selected from the group consisting of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, sulfurous acid, phosphoric acid, citric acid, oxalic acid, acetic acid, formic acid and mixtures thereof, with carbon dioxide being formed in situ when treated with an acid and/or comes from an external source, and wherein the calcium carbonate with the surface to be chemically treated contains an insoluble, at least partially crystalline, calcium salt of an anion of said at least one acid, which is formed on the surface of natural crushed or precipitated calcium carbonate, and wherein calcium carbonate particles with the chemical surface treated have a volume average grain diameter d50 from 0.1 to 50 mcm.
EFFECT: invention provides development of anti-clogging agents highly effective against lumping at a low concentration, non-toxic, and can be prepared easily and inexpensively.
