SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to diagnostics. Patient's ECG is monitored. Spectral analysis of the ECG is further performed. And the patient's ECG is monitored from one lead. And an electrocardiogram signal (ECS) is separated between points of the change in the sign of a derivative of two pulses R located to the left and to the right of the ECS sequence. Electrocardiogram signal (ECS) is separated between points of the change in the sign of a derivative of two pulses R located to the left and to the right of the ECS sequence, and a deflection, segment, interval and/or complex is selected as an ECS pulse. Whole ECS pulse sequence is sampled by N-samples with time interval Δt. Reference points are marked at the beginning and end of each of the ECS pulses and the duration of each of the selected ECS pulses between the reference points is determined taking into account number of samples Ni of this pulse by formula τI = NiΔt.

EFFECT: method provides increased accuracy of the diagnosis due to the most accurate determination of the ECG pulse duration.
