FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electrical connector and a method of connecting an electrical connection component used at high power. Electrical connection component is suitable for power transmission with voltage levels greater than or equal to 1 kV, and comprises a first electrical contact disposed to be electrically connected to the second contact and disposed for direct or indirect connection to the machine cable conductor. Electrical connection component also includes a skin in which at least a portion of the first electrical contact is located, a flexible member for engaging a portion of the outer surface of the machine cable and a cable clamping assembly, it is located to connect with the part of the skin and press the flexible element so that the pressed flexible element secures the machine cable relative to the skin.
EFFECT: to reduce the transfer of stresses to the wires of the machine cable during the operation of the electrical connection component.
