FIELD: internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines with turbochargers. Waste gate control method for waste gate (200), comprising linkage (204), waste gate valve (218) for removing exhaust gases from the engine to the turbocharger, and a controller having instructions for performing the method steps. Waste gate valve (218) is connected to actuator (202). Method comprises applying current to actuator (202) to move waste gate valve (218) and indicating the position of actuator (202). Correction is applied to said indicated actuator (202) position compensating for deflection of linkage (204) based the applied current. Current applied to actuator (202) is adjusted when the corrected actuator position reaches a position corresponding to desired waste gate valve (218) to maintain the lift of waste gate valve (218). Versions of the method of controlling a waste gate valve are disclosed.

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of controlling supercharging.
