FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. Medical device for depositing energy on body portion of a subject using a catheter comprises a magnetic resonance imaging system for obtaining magnetic resonance data from a subject; an ultrasound system configured to be connected to a catheter with an ultrasound array comprising a plurality of ultrasound elements, wherein each of the plurality of ultrasound elements is configured to generate ultrasound at a plurality of frequencies; memory for storing computer-executable instructions and a processor for controlling the medical device. Processor is configured to control an ultrasound system for generating a pulse of acoustic radiation by means of an ultrasound system; receive magnetic resonance data when controlling the magnetic resonance imaging system by means of a pulse sequence during the generation of an acoustic radiation pulse; reconstruct a pulse image based on acoustic radiation strength using magnetic resonance data; determine the energy deposition zone for the catheter using the pulsed image based on the acoustic radiation strength and precisely target or direct the ultrasound array to deposit ultrasound energy into the target zone in the subject by controlling the phases of the ultrasound elements. Method for operating a medical device and a computer-readable medium for storing instructions for executing by a processor are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing energy deposition by means of a catheter in the human body.
