FIELD: data processing.

SUBSTANCE: system associated with a sensor shaft and a conjugated shaft to collect data on shafts comprises a sensor shaft and a conjugated shaft disposed relative to each other so as to create a contact zone therebetween, wherein the web of material passing through the contact zone in a direction from the beginning to the end of the process chain, and a oscillating component disposed in front of the contact zone with respect to the web of material so that it periodically oscillates relative to the web of material. Number of sensors is located in axially spaced locations on the sensor shaft, wherein each sensor entering the contact zone with each rotation of the sensor shaft to generate a corresponding sensor signal. Structure for generating a periodic initial reference signal in connection with each oscillation of the oscillating component and a processor for receiving a periodic initial reference signal and a corresponding sensor signal generated by each sensor, and after receiving the corresponding sensor signal, the processor determines one particular sensor from the plurality of sensors, which generated the corresponding signal based on a value occurred between the time of generation of the corresponding sensor signal and the most recent initial reference signal, identifies one of the plurality of tracking segments associated with the oscillating component, wherein each of the plurality of tracking segments being associated, respectively, with a different value and stores the corresponding sensor signal to associate it with the identified tracking segment.

EFFECT: proposed is a system associated with a sensor shaft and a conjugated shaft for collecting data on shafts.
