SUBSTANCE: collecting data on a sensor shaft and a coupled shaft forming a contact area, includes generating a corresponding sensor signal by each of the sensors located at locations spaced along the axis of the sensor shaft, wherein each corresponding sensor signal is generated when each sensor enters the zone of contact between the sensor shaft and the coupled shaft during each rotation of the sensor shaft, and receiving the generated signal. After receiving the signal, the processor: a) determines which specific sensor generates this signal, b) based on the angular position of the conjugate shaft relative to the reference position determines which of a certain number of tracking segments associated with the coupled shaft, substantially coincides with the sensor in the region of the contact area, and c) stores the corresponding sensor signal to associate this signal with one specific tracking segment.
EFFECT: invention discloses a method and a system relating to a sensor shaft and a coupled shaft for collecting data on shafts.
