Coating station comprising a rotatable coating rod forming a second contact zone with the sensor shaft, wherein each sensor entering the area of the second contact zone between the sensor shaft and the coating rod with each rotation of the sensor shaft. Each sensor generates a corresponding signal when entering the area of the second contact zone. Structure for generating a periodical initial reference point in association with each rotation of the coating rod and a processor for receiving a periodic initial reference signal and a corresponding signal generated by each sensor, when it moves through the second contact zone and, after receiving the corresponding sensor signal, the processor operates to determine a particular sensor from the number of sensors, which generated the corresponding signal, based on the value obtained between the time of generation of the corresponding sensor signal and the most recent reference signal, to determine one of the plurality of tracking segments, wherein each of the plurality of tracking segments being associated with a different value, respectively, and storing the corresponding sensor signal to associate it with a specific tracking segment.
