FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biochemistry. Method for calibrating and measuring a signal is proposed, as well as a device for detecting and/or identifying target bacteria. Device contains a detector assembly with a housing, a detector and a damper. Housing defines the channel for receiving the sample container and sets the detection volume for placing the channel in interaction with the detector. Damper is movable between the first and second position to isolate the detection volume from the housing channel. In this case, the damper sets the calibration connector, where the calibration connector places the calibration light source into interaction with the detector at the first position of the damper, and in the second position of the damper the calibration connector is isolated from the detection volume. Method comprises transmission of the first signal from the calibration light source to a detection volume isolated from the channel, detection of the first light signal by means of a detector, flap movement and placement of the channel in optical communication with the detection volume to detect the first light signal emitted from the container.
EFFECT: inventions provide rapid detection and identification of bacterial species in clinical specimens.
