SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of image acquisition. In the method, the imaging system comprises first imaging modality device (102) configured to acquire images of the subject from at least one position; second imaging modality device (124) configured to acquire images of the subject from a plurality of poses selected based on at least one position of the first imaging modality device and in accordance with the criteria for providing the best pose or poses; planning module (115) stored in the memory and configured to determine at least one trajectory enabling the best pose or poses of the second imaging modality device for acquiring, in cooperation with the first imaging modality device, the image or images of the subject. One or more of the following criteria are taken into account: avoidance of collision between the first imaging modality device and the second imaging modality device, avoidance of occlusion of the area of interest in the subject, visualization of the area of interest and / or radiation dosage control. These criteria are assigned weighting factors (180) to establish the priority of the criteria.

EFFECT: providing simplification of planning the positioning of the C-arm.
