FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a catalyst material for the oxidation of NO comprising a catalyst carrier including a ceria-alumina support having platinum and palladium dispersed on the support, wherein the ratio of platinum to palladium by weight is at least 1:1, and amount of ceria in the support is in the range of 1 % to 12 % by weight. Also provided is a lean burn engine exhaust gas treatment system, comprising said catalyst material, lean burn engine exhaust gas treatment method comprising using said catalytic material and a variant of the above catalytic material.

EFFECT: providing Pd-enriched catalytic material in lean burn combustion systems having improved NO oxidation and at the same time improved temperature characteristic of CO light-off.
