SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical technology, namely to medical guidance tools to manually steer endoscope. Guidance system for endoscope navigation by the user relative to a coordinate system of the user comprises a registration module configured to, using a processor, register a first set of images with a second set of images of an endoscope, selection module configured to select areas of interest on the first set of images and transform the selected areas of interest to an endoscope coordinate system and a guidance module configured to overlay guidance tools onto the second set of images to permit a user of the endoscope to navigate to the selected areas of interest, wherein the guidance module includes a path module configured to overlay a path of a current motion of the endoscope onto the second set of images. According to the second embodiment, the guidance system further comprises an actuation module configured to orient a camera of the endoscope such that a coordinate system of the camera corresponds with a coordinate system of the user, to permit a user of the endoscope to navigate to the selected areas of interest. Method for guided endoscope navigation is carried out by using the guidance system.
