FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of making artillery barrels. Method of surface hardening of the inner surface of the barrel of an artillery gun is that the control portion of the inner surface of the barrel is acted upon by pulses of a laser emitter for heating and transferring the surface layer of metal to martensite followed by quality control of hardening. At the same time, the level of signals of acoustic emission waves is detected by receivers located on the unprocessed part of the barrel. When the positive results of hardening are achieved in the control section, the selected laser treatment mode is used to harden the entire product. Further, the real-time control of the level of the acoustic emission signal during the barrel processing is performed. When the level of the acoustic emission signal changes, the operating modes of the laser emitter are reset. Invention can be used in many branches of machine engineering.
EFFECT: reducing hardening time and improving the quality of products.
