SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the detection area of a traffic light lamp. Detection of the traffic light lamp is carried out by a method by a device that detects a portion of the boundary from a camera image that has a brightness difference equal to or greater than a predetermined value, and generates a smoothed image by attenuating the brightness difference of the boundary portion. Then, the traffic light lamp detection device extracts the synchronized pixels from the smoothed image, wherein the synchronized pixels have luminances varying in synchronism with the AC power cycle of the power supplied to the lamp and detecting the lamp from the synchronized pixels.
EFFECT: improved detection efficiency of the traffic light lamp.
