FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention describes a method for producing a solketal which comprises reacting glycerol with an excess of acetone under acid catalysis conditions, including removing water using molecular sieves, then separating the desiccant, neutralizing the solution and distilling off acetone, while using a 6-18-fold molar excess of acetone with respect to glycerin, the process is carried out at room temperature in a medium that does not contain hydrophobic agents.
EFFECT: technical result consists in obtaining the product in high yield and with high purity.
