SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an induction heating device for heating an aerosol forming substrate, to an aerosol delivery system comprising such an induction heating device and to a method for operating such an aerosol delivery system. Induction heating device (1) for heating aerosol forming substrate (20) comprises current collector (21), wherein induction heating device (1) comprises device body (10); DC power supply (11) which, during operation, provides direct current voltage (VDC) and direct current intensity (IDC); electronic power feeding circuitry (13) configured to operate at a high frequency, wherein electronic power feeding circuitry (13) comprises DC to AC converter (132) coupled to DC power supply (11), wherein DC to AC converter (132) comprises inductive-capacitive load network (1323) configured to operate at a low-resistance load (1324), wherein inductive capacitive load network (1323) comprises a series connection of capacitor (C2) and inductor (L2), having an ohmic resistance (R coil); cavity (14) located in body (10) of the device, wherein the cavity has an internal surface, the shape of which allows to house at least a portion of aerosol forming substrate (20), wherein cavity (14) is arranged in such a way that when a portion of aerosol forming substrate (20) is placed in cavity (14), inductor (L2) of inductive capacitive load network (1323) is inductively connected to current collector (21) of aerosol forming substrate (20) during operation, wherein electronic power feeding circuits (13) further comprise microcontroller (131) which is programmed to detect during operation and using the direct current voltage (VDC) of direct current power supply (11) and direct current intensity (IDC), obtained from DC power supply (11), the apparent ohmic resistance (Ra), and it is additionally programmed to determine the temperature (T) of susceptor (21) of aerosol forming substrate (20) during operation and using the apparent ohmic resistance (Ra).
EFFECT: technical result of the claimed invention is the ability to measure the temperature of the aerosol forming substrate.
