SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an inductive heating device for heating an aerosol-forming substrate and, more particularly, to an inductive heating device for heating an aerosol-forming substrate of a smoking article. Inductive heating device (1) for heating aerosol-forming substrate (20) comprising susceptor (21), wherein inductive heating device (1) comprises device housing (10), DC power source (11) having a DC supply voltage (Vcc), power supply electronics (13) configured to operate at high frequency and comprising DC/AC inverter (132) connected to DC power source (11) and including a Class-E power amplifier including transistor switch (1320), transistor switch driver circuit (1322), and LC load network (1323) configured to operate at low ohmic load (1324), wherein LC load network (1323) comprises shunt capacitor (C1) and a series connection of capacitor (C2) and inductor (L2) having an ohmic resistance (RCoil), and cavity (14) arranged in device housing (10) and having an internal surface shaped to accommodate at least a portion of aerosol-forming substrate (20), wherein cavity (14) is arranged such that upon accommodation of the portion of aerosol-forming substrate (20) in the cavity, inductor (L2) of LC load network (1323) is inductively coupled to susceptor (21) of aerosol-forming substrate (20) during operation.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the improvement of the inductive heating device for heating an aerosol-forming substrate.
