FIELD: smoking accessories.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tobacco industry, more particularly to electronic cigarettes. Inductive heating device (1) for heating aerosol-forming substrate (20) comprising susceptor (21) comprises: device housing (10), DC power source for providing a DC supply voltage (VDC) and a DC current (IDC), power supply electronics (13) comprising a DC/AC converter comprising an inductance-capacitance load network comprising a series connection of a capacitor and inductor (L2) having an ohmic resistance (RCoil), cavity (14) in device housing (10) for accommodating a portion of aerosol-forming substrate (20) to inductively couple inductor (L2) to susceptor (21). Power supply electronics (13) further comprises a microcontroller programmed to determine from the DC supply voltage (VDC) and from the DC current (IDC) apparent ohmic resistance (Ra), and from apparent ohmic resistance (Ra) temperature (T) of susceptor (21). Microcontroller is further programmed to monitor changes in apparent ohmic resistance (Ra) and to detect a puff when a decrease of apparent ohmic resistance (Ra) is determined which is indicative of a temperature decrease of susceptor (21) during a user inhalation.
EFFECT: technical result is the expansion of functional capabilities of electronic cigarettes.
