SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and method for controlling detonation in an engine with disconnected cylinders. In one particular example, during operation of part of cylinders, the ignition timing of one or more cylinders can be adjusted when detonation is detected based on the number of disconnected cylinders, and during operation of all cylinders, when detonation is detected, the ignition timing is controlled for all cylinders.
EFFECT: proposed method allows to obtain a larger range when operating part of cylinders, which improves the efficiency of fuel use in the vehicle.
