FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to propulsion engineering. Disclosed are methods and systems for selecting water injection point in engine depending on engine operating conditions. In one example, the method may include selecting, depending on the engine load, one of the following water injection points: into inlet channel of each cylinder, into intake manifold upstream of all cylinders of engine and directly into each cylinder. Further, the method may include control of water injection in the selected place and adjustment of the engine operating parameters over evaporated and/or condensed parts of water.
EFFECT: invention improves fuel efficiency, toxicity and efficiency of the engine, and also reduces engine detonation and pump losses.
