FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines with disengaged cylinders. Method for engine comprises the following steps. Deactivation of one or more mechanisms of separate cylinder valve in accordance with a combination of cylinders. Repeated activation of one or more valve mechanisms in response to a request for cam phasing. Combination of cylinders comprises first and second deactivated cylinder and third active cylinder. Repeated activation of one or more mechanisms of the separate cylinder valve includes repeated activation of the mechanism of the separate valve of the cylinder of the first cylinder at preservation of the mechanism of the separate valve of the cylinder of the second cylinder deactivated. Method and system for engine are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of quality of phasing of distributing shaft due to increased speed of phasing during operation of engine with one or more deactivated cylinders.
