FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the communication device for transmitting/receiving the uncompressed image data, which are transmitted by the digital interface, such as a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI). Graphics is preferably superimposed onto the uncompressed image data, which are received from an external device for transmission to another external device. AV amplifier 12, which is inserted into the HDMI transmission route between the BD player 11 and the television receiver 13 superimposes the graphics on the transmitted uncompressed image data. In this case, the AV amplifier 12 receives the information that determines the dynamic range conversion of the uncompressed image data and generates the graphic image data based on the dynamic range conversion determination information for the overlaying, thus displaying the graphics with the desired brightness, even when the television receiver 13 performs the inverse dynamic range conversion.
EFFECT: technical result consists in supporting the ability to superimpose on the uncompressed image data the graphics from the external source for transmission to another external device.
