Method for controlling the glycosylation pattern of a recombinant glycoprotein, comprising culturing a microorganism comprising a polynucleotide encoding a recombinant glycoprotein in a culture medium containing insulin. Method for controlling the glycosylation pattern of a recombinant glycoprotein is proposed, comprising (a) culturing a microorganism, comprising a polynucleotide encoding a recombinant glycoprotein, in a culture medium for growing a microorganism and (b) adding insulin to the culture medium and culturing said microorganism to produce a glycoprotein.
EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to control and reduce the content of N-glycans or O-glycans in a recombinant glycoprotein as the insulin concentration in the culture medium increases, which may be useful in the preparation of a pharmaceutical recombinant glycoprotein.
