FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electrochemical method for the production of a microcrystalline silicon powder comprising electrolysis of a melt containing chloride, fluoride and potassium fluorosilicate, silica. Process is characterized in that the electrolysis process is carried out from a melt containing the following ratio of components, mol.%: potassium chloride 38.2; potassium fluoride 46.3; potassium fluorosilicate 14.5–15.0; silicon dioxide 0.5–1.0. Process is carried out at a temperature of 700 °C, current density from 0.5 A/cm2 and electrolysis potentials relative to the glassy carbon reference electrode.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention consists in the possibility of obtaining microcrystalline silicon at a lower temperature.
