FIELD: gas production industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for producing functional ceramics that can be used to extract helium from gas mixtures, including natural gas, and to separate its isotopes. Method involves pressing and firing fine powders of precursors, as which special orthovanadates Ca3V2O8 and M3V2O8 are used, where M is Mg, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, including their mixture.
EFFECT: method allows to obtain single-phase ceramics for extracting helium from gas mixtures with a high filtration capacity for a given gas while reducing the pressing pressure and the firing temperature.
