FIELD: heat exchange; technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a heat-shielding material based on ethylene-propylene diene rubber, which can be used in aircraft and rocket engineering. Heat-shielding material contains EPDM-40 ethylene-propylene diene rubber, sulfur curing agents and tiuram D, vulcanization accelerator 2-mercaptobenzothiazole, cure activators, zinc oxide and stearin, carbon black, MCF micro-carbon fibers and modifying additive. Moreover, the micro-carbon fibers of MCF are pretreated with a modifying additive representing borate methylphosphite, by means of their thermostating at 80 °C in 20 wt. % aqueous solution of methyl phosphite borate.

EFFECT: resulting heat-shielding material has increased fire resistance and increased duration of heat-shielding efficiency.
