FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat-shielding materials based on ethylene-propylene-diene rubber, which can be used in aviation and rocket engineering. Disclosed is a thermal-protective material based on ethylene-propylene-diene rubber SKEPT-40, containing (pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of rubber): vulcanising agents – sulfur (1.0) and thiuram D (1.5), vulcanisation accelerator 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (0.5), activators of curing zinc oxide (5.0) and stearin (1.0), technical carbon (40.0) and a modifying additive pre-deposited on the mixture of aluminosilicate hollow microspheres MCS (2.0–5.0) and micro-carbon fibers MCF (10.0) by their thermostating in a modifying additive solution, wherein the modifying additive contains a phosphorus-boron-containing oligomer PBO (1.0) applied by thermostating at 100 °C from 0.5 wt% solution of a phosphorus-boron-containing oligomer PBO in water which is preliminarily neutralized with aqueous ammonia solution.

EFFECT: obtaining materials with satisfactory physical and mechanical properties and high heat-shielding efficiency.
