FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. To control vision correction in case of loss of visual acuity, the patient is represented with an image consisting of textual and non-textual elements and having more than one of the following properties, including facial recognition and expressions, high-frequency elements, and gratings, rotating gratings, array of gratings, line drawings, text in motion, text in perspective, text with distraction and high contrast patterns. Patient's reaction to the presented image is assessed without blurred vision correction and with correction of visual acuity using an adaptive lens device.
EFFECT: group of inventions allows assessment of visual acuity, as well as a demonstration of the effect of increase of sharpness through optical correction, for example, low cylinder astigmatism, or correction of high-order aberrations, on the quality of vision.
