SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in supercharged internal combustion engines. Method for operating engine compressors (10), comprises passing air through first compressor (162) and second compressor (150) in engine air intake (42) and returning a portion of air passing through second compressor (150), to the engine air intake downstream of first compressor (162) and upstream of second compressor (150) via opening a charge air cooler (151) bypass valve (154) by controller (12). Portion of air passing through second compressor (150) to the engine air intake downstream of first compressor (162) and upstream of second compressor (162) is returned in response to determination by controller (12). Determination by controller (12) is that an amount of condensation in turbocharger air cooler (151) becomes greater than a threshold, during engine operation after determining the engine operating conditions by means of sensors connected to controller (12). Amount of condensation is determined by means of sensors. Options of the method for operating engine compressors and the engine system are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in the fact that the condensation may be gradually removed from an air cooler without increasing engine torque or significantly increasing fuel consumption.
