FIELD: motors and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion engines. In the engine control method, the engine is rotated without fueling at a slower speed than the threshold rotational speed until until the piston temperature is higher than the threshold value, when driving a hybrid vehicle, only by means of the torque of an electric motor. Threshold rotational speed is the rotational speed of the engine crankshaft when the engine is rotated without fuel through the starter motor.
EFFECT: reduced engine emissions.
