FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: orthopedic damping device comprises a movably mounted piston and at least one chamber which has a wall and in which a compressible medium is compressed by moving the piston in a first direction and decompressed by moving the piston in an opposite second direction. Chamber is connected to a discharge channel. Discharge channel is provided with a closure element. Closure element is movably mounted on a base. Base is coupled to the piston or is designed as a piston. Closure element is coupled to a contact region which can be moved relative to the base.
EFFECT: invention provides improved matching of expansion characteristics and, in particular, extension characteristics.
