FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a measurement technique and is intended for continuous monitoring of water leaks over large areas. Leakage sensor is made in the form of two layers of electrically conductive permeable material, between which is placed a separating layer of capillary-porous dielectric material, layers of electrically conductive material permeable are included in a series with a current source and meter, the upper and lower protective layers of capillary-porous dielectric material are placed, respectively, over one of the two layers of electrically conductive material permeable and under another of two layers of electrically conductive water-permeable material, with the layers of material being interconnected by means ensuring their fixing with the possibility of penetration of moisture.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the strength and operational reliability of the sensor, in particular, resistance to external mechanical stress.
