FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for producing molten material, a working unit for melting solid batch material, a production line for glass fibres. Method for producing a molten material comprises feeding a solid batch material into a melter, melting said solid batch material in the melter by submerged combustion and subjecting the melt to a flow pattern. Flow pattern is essentially a toroidal flow pattern of the melt and is represented by major centrally inwardly convergent flow vectors at the melt surface. Central axis of rotation of the toroid is substantially vertical. Invention also relates to a melting furnace assembly for carrying out the method and a production line for glass fibres. Toroidal form of the melt flow is achieved by a suitable design, angle and gaps between multiple submerged combustion burners at the bottom of the melting furnace.

EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of the method of melting solid batch material.
