FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to laboratory diagnostics, and can be used to diagnose infectious mononucleosis in humans. To do this, determine the relative content of atypical mononuclear cells in hematological smears. In smears prepared from leukoconcentrate concentrate, the areas of atypical mononuclear cells, lymphocytes of a patient without infectious mononucleosis are determined by imposing on them a stereometric grid embedded in the eyepiece of the microscope. If the area of the average atypical mononuclear is exceeded, the average lymphocyte area of the patient without infectious mononucleosis is diagnosed with infectious mononucleosis 1.5 or more times.
EFFECT: use of this method makes it possible to diagnose infectious mononucleosis with the help of morphometric measurements of the area of atypical mononuclear cells.
