SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to means of tracking an object of interest in ultrasound image information. Method of obtaining ultrasound images comprises receiving X-ray image information and ultrasound image information, wherein mutual spatial arrangement of the X-ray image information and the ultrasound image information is given, detecting an object of interest from X-ray image information, controlling the acquisition of a two-dimensional ultrasound image so that the object of interest is in a first plane of the ultrasound image, and wherein the first plane of the ultrasound image comprises an X-ray source, an ultrasound source and the projection of the object of interest in the X-ray image information. Ultrasound imaging system comprises an X-ray system having an X-ray source and an X-ray detector, and an ultrasound system. System also includes computer readable media.
EFFECT: use of inventions widens the range of means of tracking an object during transesophageal echocardiography.
