FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polymer conjugate, a polymer micelle formed by a polymer conjugate, a therapeutic composition for treating cancer, and a method for treating a disease or condition which is cancer. In the method, the polymer conjugate contains a backbone, which is an anionic polymer, and hydrophobic moieties are covalently attached to the backbone of the polymer. Said polymer conjugate has following formula (I): , where M is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrophobic moiety and cation; the hydrophobic moiety is independently selected from: or . Said hydrophobic moiety is 20–50 mol% of total M amount; the cation is independently selected from hydrogen, ammonia or alkali metal; X is O. Above cancer treatment therapeutic composition contains a carrier consisting of the above polymer conjugate and a hydrophobic compound functionally associated with the carrier. In the method, a hydrophobic drug is an anticancer drug. This method for treating cancer is that an effective amount of the above therapeutic composition is administered to a subject.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain stable polymer micelles, increase the therapeutic effect and improve the condition of a patient.
