FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, namely to means for screening the state of oxygenation of a subject. In the method, a processor for use in the screening system comprises an imaging unit for obtaining a plurality of image frames of a subject over time, wherein the processor is configured to process the image frames by recognizing the subject in an image frame, determining the location of the subject’s body parts of interest, including at least the right upper limb and at least one lower limb of the subject, determining the perfusion index for each of the subject’s body parts of interest, selecting a plurality of pixels and/or pixel groups for each of the subject’s body parts of interest by using the mentioned perfusion index, determining the blood oxygen saturation level for said plurality of pixels and/or pixel groups of the subject using pulse oximetry waveforms for at least two different wavelengths contained in the image frames, determining the differential blood oxygen saturation level between the determined blood oxygen saturation level for the right upper limb and the determined blood oxygen saturation level for the at least one lower limb and comparing the determined differential blood oxygen saturation level, the determined blood oxygen saturation level for the right upper limb and the determined blood oxygen saturation level for the at least one lower limb with the corresponding thresholds for the blood oxygen saturation levels to obtain a screening indicator for the subject showing oxygenation quality of the subject, wherein the processor is configured to determine the heart rate and/or quality index for each body part of interest to qualify the obtained screening indicator and use a specific perfusion index to select each pixel and/or pixel group of the body part for which the previously determined blood oxygen saturation levels are grouped for each body part with a perfusion index exceeding the perfusion threshold. Said screening system comprises a visualization unit for receiving a plurality of frames of an image of a subject over some time and a processor. This method performs image frame processing by means of a system using computer readable media.
EFFECT: system is proposed for screening the subject's oxygenation status.
