ABLATION CATHETER AND ABLATION DEVICE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B18/14

Abstract RU 2678229 C1

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of medical technology, namely to the field of catheters and ablative devices for ablation of human or, more generally, animal tissues. Catheter for ablation of tissue contains a telescopic tubular body, a locking head and an ablation head at the distal end of the telescopic body and a control handler at the proximal end of the telescopic body. Telescopic tubular body comprises an outer tubular body and an inner tubular body, located coaxially with each other, and a rod-like guide element at least partially located inside the inner tubular body in such a way that at least one free end protrudes from the inner tubular body at the distal end of the telescopic body. Locking head is located near the free end of the rod-shaped guide, and the ablation head is near the fixing head in a remote position relative to the free end. Control paddle is connected to a guide element, an ablation head, fixing head and telescopic tubular body. Ablation head contains at least two ablative elements or lobes that can move from the initial position, in which they are located inside the outer tubular body into a working position in which they protrude from the outer tubular body like a petal. Each of the ablative elements or petals contains a continuous ablation electrode, which runs continuously along the circumferential peripheral part of each petal, essentially along a circular arc having a longitudinal axis of the rod-shaped guide element as its center, and two sides of the petal, each of which is connected to the end of the ablation electrode in a curved section. Side parts and the ablation electrode are made in one piece with each other and are made of the same bent metal conductor. Each ablative petal is separate and different from the other ablative lobe of the ablation head. All ablation petals of the ablation head are separately connected to a separate power generator to perform radio frequency ablation when the ablation electrode is energized. Each ablation tab is made of one nitinol wire having a circular cross-section with a diameter D, and since L is the linear length of the ablation electrode, the following D/L ratio is in the range from 0.015 to 0.025. Device for ablation of tissue contains the above catheter and at least one electric generator for each lobe of said catheter electrically connected to said lobe.

EFFECT: inventions provide a catheter for tissue ablation that can shorten the procedure time, which is safer to use and which has the smallest possible dimensions and at the same time has an ablation profile that, as far as possible, is complete and uniform; and also ensure that the ablation is performed only on the part of the tissue surrounding the ablation head, so that it is not necessary to treat other parts that have already been treated properly.
