SUBSTANCE: device for embossing packaging material is equipped with a group of embossing rollers containing male die and female die rollers interacting with each other, the surfaces of which are provided with texture elements, wherein texture elements (M6R6) on the surface of female die roller (M6), which are intended for texture elements (P6E6) on the surface of male die roller (P6), are not inversely congruent by more than 15 mcm in the axial and radial direction, and the texture elements of the male die and female die rollers connected to each other contain facets (F) in order to increase the local pressure. Facet (F) contains faces (FN) inclined relative to an imaginary continuous texture surface. Using such faceted rollers, a very wide range of films can be embossed in an aesthetically pleasing manner, with the films being used primarily in the tobacco and food industries.
