SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of forming identification elements on a packaging tape with thickness of 20–600 mcm, intended for authentication of packaging made using said tape, during which packaging tape is fed onto embossing machine of packing line; carrying out, in one operation, during working stroke of production process, embossing, on the packing tape, at least one element in the form of a sign or code; synchronously forming, within the same operation and in the same working cycle, at least one identification element by removing material from the packing tape, wherein that material used to remove material consists of forming complex containing laser installation and of processed packing tape subjected to further processing.

EFFECT: technical result is providing authentication method authentication.
