METHOD OF NONTRANSPARENT MULTILAYER MASK HYDROBIONTS APPLICATION TO EYE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2679512 C2

FIELD: biology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biological and ecological studies and concerns the protocol conditions for the eye gluing of aquatic animals without eyelids. Method consists in that, after anesthetizing and immobilizing the fish, an antimicrobial agent for the eyes is applied to the pupil. Then prepare the skin around the eye by drying the skin for 1–2 hours with filter paper and blowing through a plastic thin needle connected to the syringe, while periodically moistening the eye with water. Next, the skin around the eye is treated with hydrogen peroxide and alcohol, while applying to the pupil and around it hydrocortisone in the form of ophthalmic ointment on a vaseline basis. Then, the Dermabond skin glue is applied to the completely dried skin around the eye. After that, the first layer of the mask, consisting of a liquid base on the Ardell Lash Grip Adhesive Dark cellulose-rubber base, is applied with the help of a pointed stick around the eye and on the eye itself, completely closing it. After drying, the second layer of the mask, consisting of a waterproof glue on a polyurethane base, is applied over the entire surface of the first layer, and also along the dry edge of the skin of the fish around the first layer of the mask.

EFFECT: method excludes the entry of light rays into the visual analyzer and provides a prolonged, up to 1 month retention of the eye mask on the skin of an aquatic animal that does not have eyelids, in a water-air environment when examining vision and visual-motor reactions.
