FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is a nutrient medium containing macro- and micro-salts prepared according to the WPM prescription, but with the additional introduction of glycine and agar-agar, as well as an excellent content of micro- and macro-components, N6-(2-isopentyl)adenine and indolylacetic acid. In addition, the proposed nutrient medium led to the development of a new method of microclonal propagation of rhododendron, including the sterilization of primary explants, which use cuttings of growing shoots with 1-2 axillary buds, sterilization of the nutrient medium and cultivation, at the same time, sterilization is carried out by sequential treatment with a soap-alkaline solution for 15 minutes, with a 0.1–0.2 % solution of diacid for 3–5 minutes with washing three times with sterile distilled water, after which the Explant is placed on a sterile nutrient medium and cultured for 3–5 weeks.
EFFECT: claimed inventions make it possible to significantly increase the multiplication factor in comparison with the prototype, reduce the subculturing period to 3–5 weeks, while ensuring the production of viable microplants of deciduous rhododendron species.
