SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for grinding solid mineral materials, namely, to vertical hammer crushers. Grinding device contains vertical cylindrical body 1 with body-mounted beater rods 2 placed on its inner surface in several levels, and rotor with hinged hammers 3, grouped in several tiers, alternating with the levels of body beater rods 2. Hammers 3 are mounted on the rotor by means of axles 7, uniformly distributed around the circumference mounted on the rotor shaft disks. Axis 7 has hexagonal heads. Axis heads 7 are made multi-faceted. Protective caps 9 are made with the outer surface of a polygonal shape with a hole corresponding to the shape of head axis 7, the latter are installed with the possibility of scrolling together with protective caps 9.

EFFECT: grinding device provides increased operational reliability and durability of the design, as well as reducing the complexity of installation and dismantling.
