FIELD: veterinary medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, specifically to veterinary medicine, and can be used to prevent infections caused by the Hendra and/or Nipah virus in a horse or a pig. For this purpose, a vaccine is administered containing 50–100 mcg of a soluble fragment of Hendra virus G glycoprotein, which consists of amino acids 73-604 SEQ ID NO: 2 or a sequence which is at least 95 % identical. Vaccine also contains an immunostimulatory complex and excipients. In addition, a method for preventing a Hendra and/or Nipah virus infection in a horse or a pig and a method for differentiating a subject vaccinated with said vaccine from a subject exposed to Hendra and/or Nipah virus are disclosed.

EFFECT: group of inventions allows to prevent infection caused by the Hendra and/or Nipah virus in a horse or a pig.
