FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for treating a tissue matrix, such as porcine skin tissue. Method comprises selecting tissue; contacting the tissue matrix with a first alcalase aqueous solution having an activity producing a desired increase in a pliability measured by a drape test of the tissue matrix without producing significant collagen degradation; and contacting the tissue treated with alcalase with a second solution to remove at least some of the cells and cellular components from said tissue. Implantable acellular porcine skin tissue is described.
EFFECT: increased tissue pliability and drape capability without unacceptable alteration in collagen structure or degradation of other mechanical properties of tissue ensure the stability of said tissue after its implantation into the patient.
