FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of measuring haemolysis or hematocrit in a blood sample, comprising: a) measuring conductance of a blood sample on at least three multiple-frequency AC inputs; b) calculating an immittance value for each of the three multiple-frequency AC inputs; and c) subjecting each immittance value calculated at step b) to one of (1) a function, which maps the immittance values to lysed blood levels, and determining lysed blood level in the sample, or (2) a function which maps the immittance values to hematocrit levels, and determining hematocrit level in the sample while compensating the electrolyte level of the sample. What is also disclosed is a system for determining haemolysis and/or hematocrit, comprising a blood sample module, an analogue-to-digital converter module, a current-sensitive component, a sinusoidal generator and a computer processing module.
EFFECT: technical result is more accurate determination of the degree of haemolysis and hematocrit in the blood sample due to the electrical measurement of immittance at multiple frequencies, which prevents potential problems of interference with blood analyser measurements when determining the level of different blood types, and enables to obtain the level of blood decomposition in the sample without the need to separate plasma, in order to use this value to correct analytes, which were affected by the decomposition of blood cells, as well as to obtain a hematocrit value without the need for a separate sensor, for measuring electrolyte concentration, compensation thereof.
