FIELD: test equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to determination of glucose concentration. Method of determining glucose concentration in the blood comprises steps of: inserting a test strip into a strip port connector of a measuring device to connect at least two electrodes; initiating a measurement sequence after deposition of a sample. Initiation includes the steps of: applying a first voltage close to the ground potential; applying a second voltage; changing the second voltage to a third voltage; switching the third voltage to a fourth voltage; changing the fourth voltage to a fifth voltage; changing the fifth voltage to a sixth voltage; changing the sixth voltage to a seventh voltage. Each of the voltages from the second to the seventh is approximately one millivolt, and the second voltage is a voltage opposite in polarity to the third, fifth and seventh voltages and having the same polarity as the fourth and sixth voltages. At least the following is measured: a first output value of the transient current of the measuring chamber during a first interval proximate to the second and third periods of time; a second output value of the transient current during a second interval proximate to the fifth time interval; a third output value of the transient current during a third interval proximate to the sixth time interval; a fourth output value of the transient current during a fourth interval proximate to the sixth and seventh time intervals; a fifth output value of the transient current during a fifth interval proximate to the seventh time interval and a sixth output value of the transient current during a sixth interval proximate to the seventh time interval; and calculating, using a microcontroller, glucose concentration in a sample from said measured first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth output values of transient currents. Version of a method for determining blood glucose concentration using a blood glucose measurement system is also disclosed.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides accurate and reliable hematocrit insensitive blood glucose concentrations.
